I've always been a fan of players like Yaxel who possess this lingering ghost-like energy that sticks around possessions even after they're over so I could  be a bit bias.  Broken plays somehow find new life whenever he's in the vicinity. Long, out of reach rebounds turn into pressuring transition plays. Defensive stops turn into "grab-and-go" opportunities like every possession is a quick stop at 7-11. In an era increasingly searching for players who can survive multiple game environments, Lendeborg feels remarkably adaptable and connective. There's just this rare autonomy to his game, a willingness to shoulder responsibility across every phase of the floor that makes his statistical profile feel less like a collection of numbers and more like a survival kit. I buy into the passing, the shot translating, and the experience continuing to compile. I understand there's an endless list of these older prospects not working out but something truly feels anomalous about Yaxel given his background.

PROS

  • Swiss-Army-Knife tool kit with the ability to impact every part of a game
  • Excellent processor who consistently identifies cutters, shooters, and weak-side actions
  • Attacks downhill when he feels defenses on their heels
  • Doesn't require the ball to add high impact
  • Top tier tracker of the basketball through rebounds, steals and blocks

CONS

  • Doesn't possess the overwhelming vertical explosion of an archetypal modern finisher
  • Age gives reservation and questions to his upside
  • May have to leverage his strength in different opportunities at the NBA level
  • "Versatility" may be his main trait
